There is a "Thelen" in my family tree, which goes back to the 1700s in Germany. Wilhelm Schram of Ratingen (Germany) married Magdalena Cressmans. Their son, Nicolaus Schram, married Anna Gertrud Thelen of Hoengen, Germany. Their children (at least, the only ones I have) were Wilhelm Joseph, Mathias Henricus and Mathias Joseph Schramm, all born in Hoengen, Germany. It goes on from there, but that was the only Thelen in the family tree that I have.
