In Reply to: Theisen-Luxembourg-Wisconsin-Iowa by Marcia Theisen Miller of 201

I just found the Theisen posts in the last couple of days. It's been awhile since anyone has posted, really hope this gets to Marcia, as she has been searching for this information.

We are descendants of Pierre Theisen and Catherine Marion Theisen who were siblings of Johann Theisen and Amalie Mousel (LUX). Pierre came to Wisconsin and Catherine remained in Germany (I'm curious about her side of the family).

My grandfather was the son of Pierre (Johann) Theisen and Mary Lorenz--John Joseph Theisen. His youngest daughter is my mother--Rose Lynn Theisen (born 1932).

Pierre and Mary had 6 children
James Peter,
John Joseph (my grandfather),
Admunda Anna,
Mary Magdelene Amalie,
Frank Joseph, and
Michael Leo]

Mary died and Pierre then married Mary's sister and had 3 more children
Wilhelmina Anna Susan,
John Ernest, and
Melosina Marie].

Rose Lynn Theisen (John Joseph's youngest) recognizes the story that Pierre (Johann) Theisen, her grandfather, was shanghied into the navy.

My grandparents, John Theisen and Goulda Hoffman were married September 28, 1914. They settled in South Dakota and had 6 children:
Orval Peter Nicholas Theisen, born 1915;
Marie Goulda Theisen Pedersen born 1920;
Arline Margaret Theisen Pietilla (Gommer), born 1921;
Lorenz James Theisen, born 1923, died 2002;
Maxine Rose Theisen, born 1927, died 2002;
Rose Lynn Theisen Eierdam (Sullivan) born 1932.

John and Goulda had a farm in Erwin, South Dakota, where they remained until John's verry untimely death at 54 years of age. It was a very tragic and difficult for everyone. Grandma Theisen (Goulda) and my mother (Rose Lynn) moved to Spokane, Washington shortly after that to live near Orval and his family. That's how some of us ended up in Washington State.

My Aunt Maxine put together a Theisen/Hoffman family tree document which includes a picture of Pierre and Maruerite Theisen. I think my Aunts may have more pictures of the Theisen family. Melzena who goes by Zena is still living in Lacrosse, WI. She has one child.

I e:mailed my mother (Rose Lynn Theisen) about this site--she is gathering more information. She is also contacting her sisters about it. We hope to hear back from our Theisen relatives--as the information that has been posted is very relevant to our family.

Rose Lynn and her sisters are all very proud of the Theisen's, and are thrilled as this generation continues to carry their vision of family unity.

Hope to hear back from you all.
