I am searching for further information on my german ancestry. As so many Theis-families have immigrated to America there might be some relatives of mine who know more about the family although the name is very common in the region where my mother comes from.
As far as I have found ancestors in the Theis-line, I post them here to give you a chance to find matches with your lineage:
I start with my great-grandparents for - as far as I know - of my grandfather's brothers and sisters nobody immigrated.
10 Katharina Theis Plattes * 28.02.1875 Weckerath oo 01.08.1903 Bleialf + 12.06.1949 Schlausenbach
11 Mathias Theis /Ortsvorsteher * 05/15.10.1870 Oberlascheid oo 01.08.1903 Bleialf + 02.04.1920 Schlausenbach
Mathias' parents were:
22 Anna Maria Theis Schneider * 17.03.1835 Brandscheid oo 14.04.1863 Bleialf + 16.11.1905 Oberlascheid
23 Johann Theis * 10.03.1831 Oberlascheid oo 14.04.1863 Bleialf + 15.12.1883 Oberlascheid
The ancestry of Anna Maria can be traced back as far as about 1550 when sources fade. The 30years war probably has destroyed most documents dating from before 1600.
The problem lies on the Theis-line. The parents of Johann Theis were:
46 Gertrud Theis Köller * 00.00.1802 Sellerich oo ??? + 07.03.1844 Oberlascheid
47 Hubert Theis * 00.00.1798 oo ??? + 31.08.1840 Oberlascheid
their parents were:
92 Anna Katharina Köller Ehler * oo + 13.07.1843 Sellerich
93 Theodor Köller * oo + 07.02.1811 Sellerich
94 Margareta Theis Girhards * oo + 03.07.1803 Oberlascheid
95 Peter Theis * 00.00.1762 oo + 21.05.1822 Oberlascheid
Peter's parents were
190 Anna Maria Theis
191 Michael Theis
from there on I have no clues where to search. Maybe one of You has an idea where to search or even has the same lineage.
