verify Dexter Thayer's lineage,b 1827,NY

I am hoping that someone can confirm the following information: Dexter Thayer, son
of Fordyce and Martha Barr; b 8 Sep 1827, Barre, Orleans County, NY m 5 Jan 1849 in NY
Julia Jane Lovan,b 9 Nov 1832. Fordyce was
the son of Jacob, who also was a son of Jacob. Dexter died in Mankato, Mn 18 Jul 1913.
I am having trouble linking the family tree
because of the three generations.
