In 1876 Melissa Thayer, along with her father and her 4 year old daughter Josie were murdered in Bucksport, Maine. Melissa was married to Orrin Thayer who died along with their infant son Scottie earlier that year. I have written a book on this tragedy, so that these innocent people would not be forgotten, entitled "In Search of Melissa Thayer." I would be happy to discuss Melissa or her husband Orrin.
