Charles Elliott Thayer first showed up in Jackson County, Michigan in the 1870 census. His mother's first name was Sarah who was born in 1805 in Vermont. From the census his father was born in Mass. Mother showed up in the 1880 census living with him and a widow. He was first married to Mary Ingham and then to Ella Edwards. He died in 1915 and is buried in Millington Cemetery in Tuscola County, Michigan. I have looked at all of the Thayers across New York State in the 1850 census. Now to go north and south. He told the family that he was born in New York in 1848. Have a picture a Thayer relative gave me before he passed away. He hopes that when I do find the family in a census that I could match up the family so we would know who these people are.
