D.A.R. Marker in the Reams-Norton cem. in Cass Co. MI. reads " A memorial to Soloman Tharp,ancestor of many who are buried here,who was a Revolutinnary War Soldier, 1777-1783; was at Valley Forge 1777-78,fought for his countrymens liberty at Brandywine, Germantown,Monmouth, Springfield and Yorktown.He marched with the New Jersey Continental Army (4th Reg.) through western New York, Seneca Indian settelments. Eternal vigilance and sacrifice Are the price of liberty and freedom."

his grandson Soloman Tharp died in 1847 Cass Co. there is some confusion as to just when Soloman died, the date is not on his marker his wife Hannah was a Quacker and was "read out" because she married outside of the quaker faith. Andrew nelson
