This really have my curiousity peaked.There's a good chance this family is directly related to mine somehow.In my branch out of AL, some went to MS and some to TX.Apparantly in MS ones, there was some sort of scandal as part of them changed their first name and there was such a split that after a few generations one side didn't know the others were even kin.With the age of yours, there is probably an earlier marriage and children.There is a Riley Wesley Tharp b. 1820 and he disappeared for awhile after 1850 and before 1860 census.His brother John has some children with close to same names/ages as a couple that you mention.Part of Riley's children lived in LA for awhile before returning to MS.
