[fourth installment]
NOT BOUND OUT (at the same time) WERE THE FOUR OTHER CHILDREN:
Younger sister of Experience and older sister of Hannah, second born child, was Susanna Tharp {Thorp}. Another younger brother born after 1790, was the fourth born child, Hezekiah Davis Tharp, who born 1792, {"The Minnie LOWTHER book, that is titled: HISTORY OF RITCHIE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA, pub. 1911) This LOWTHER book says that both Hezehiah and his brother Timothy were indentured out, but we can only find record of Timothy’s indenture."} A fifth born child was, Bethia Tharp {Thorp}, Born: 1798, an older sister of Nancy Tharp, and finally the last born son Timothy THARP {Thorp}, born: 25 July 1802, died? were not bound or indentured out at the same time as the 3 sisters Experience, Hannah, or Nancy.
Timothy was only a two-year-old baby when his father Benjamin H. TRARP died at age 34, on 15 April 1804. Timothy THARP {Thorp}; and his older sister by four years Bethia THARP {Thorp, both lived with their widowed mother, Elizabeth MAXSON, who was a daughter of Zebulon MAXSON Sr. [1725-1787] and Experience DAVIS [~1735-1795], until she died. Then they too "were bound out as well to Thomas Maxson {#76 in DAVIS} who already had their sister, Nancy THARP, since 1804." [When her father Benjamin died.] Therefore Thomas Maxson had 3 children bound to him from this family, Nancy first, followed by Timothy and Bethia. Timothy was bound out on the20th , May 1811, at age eight, almost age nine years old and his sister Bethia would have been about age 13 years at the time of her indenture. TimothyTHARP later married, age 22, on Christmas day December, 25th, 1824 in Lewis County, West Virginia to Sarah COX [born:18 Dec. 1805-died:1884, daughter of Philip COX and Christiana STELLE.}Timothy and Sarah had 13 children together. One of their children died in Andersonville Prison, Jan 1865 (Sampson S. THARP, b 1845), Civil War. And one son, their last born child; Phineas Randolph THARP, b. 13 Jan 1849, married a MOYER, (Sarah). Timothy erected a tannery after 1852.

[Note by Carol, I have found some of this information via: Alma Frame [email protected] and about 10 other sites listed in Rootsweb search that started with David Sutton COX.}
For example, Sarah Cox, who married Timothy THARP is the sister and therefore shares the same parents, that are Philip COX and Christiana STELLE, as do her brother David Sutton Cox, who was the second husband of #2 Hannah THARP. While their brother, Hezekiah Davis Tharp married Huldah COX.
