Dear TRARP or THORP list subscribers: Here is a long story that I will post as excerpts. This was originally posted in the Sutton-Digest rootsweb.

The Indenture Story of 3 Daughters or
3 Sisters Indentured As Children by Carol Lorraine Sutton
With some SUTTON links
__**__**__**__ __**__**__**__ __**__**__**__**__**__**
PART ONE:

" ELIZABETH MAXSON is married to carpenter Benjamin Thorp (Tharp) (Thorpe), who worked for Thomas Maxson, fell on hard times." (From page 27 Davis book under section #29)

This story links into two unique and different SUTTON lines numerous times, both the Ambrose line and the Cornelius line. It links into the Ambrose Sutton line with persons such as David Sutton COX [1792-bef 1850], who is linked to one of the key three sisters; Hannah THARP, a heroine of this story and David’s wife. David Sutton Cox is also linked to Rev. David Sutton and Sarah TREMBLEY, in addition to being a descendent of Sarah SUTTON who was the wife of early ancestor Issac COCKS.

Other Sutton’s include John David Sutton. [JOHN DAVID SUTTON (G4-Ambrose Line) (1674-1750) of NJ, husband of Elizabeth CONGER, and son of WILLIAM SUTTON (G4-Ambrose Line) and DEMARIS BISHOP.] In fact, I got very excited by this connection of these two lines; the Ambrose Sutton line and the Cornelius Sutton line. I feel more sure that they will ultimately connect together, once we can find out who was the "MYSTERY MAN WHO WAS THE FATHER OF CORNELIUS SUTTON" . Many of these early Sutton’s who lived in Piscataway, and in other counties in New Jersey, such as Somerset, and Monmouth, later migrated in groups and singularly to West Virginia with the Seventh Day Baptists.
.
This story links into the Cornelius Sutton line with persons such as Caroline SUTTON, daughter of George J. Sutton [1808-1845] and Eleanor Davis [1812-1892], granddaughter of John N. Sutton [1785-1869] and Rachel "Ruth " DAVIS [1792-1853].

For example this story links into the SUTTON line: via the daughter of
William G. "Greenbrier Billy" Davis and Elizabeth Johnston; she was
Rachel "Ruth" DAVIS who married: John N. SUTTON

Rachel "Ruth" DAVIS’s DAVIS/SUTTON/MAXSON line:
Rachel ‘Ruth’ Davis 5 [1792-1853] and John N. Sutton [20 Oct 1785-1869] {GGGG Grandfather
of Carol Lorraine Sutton}, William "Greenbrier Billy" DAVIS 4 and Elizabeth JOHNSTON and,
Rev. Thomas William Davis Sr. 3 [1719-1791] and Tacy or Elizabet Lacy CRANDALL [1720-1795],
Rev John or Jonathan Davis 2 [1692-1754] and Elizabeth MAXSON [1695-1751},
Rev. William Davis 1 [born: 1664 of Lanstephan County, Radnor / Glamorganshire, Wales –
died: 1746 in Shrewsbury, Monmouth, New Jersey ]
and Elizabeth BRINLEY or BRISLEY [1664-1706 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania]}
{7G Grandfather of Carol Lorraine Sutton}

Rachel "Ruth" Davis SUTTON line:
Rachel ‘Ruth’ Davis [1792-1853] and John N. Sutton 2 [20 Oct 1785-1869] {GGGG Grandfather of Carol Lorraine Sutton},
Cornelius Sutton Sr. 1 [21 Oct 1750 -died at age 99 years, 11 months and 1 day on Mar 30 1850 in West Union, Doddridge County, WV ] and Elizabeth Applegate [born: 1754, or 1756, or 1758 in Monmouth County, New Jersey , and died: 1789],
+ unknown mystery man father of Cornelius SUTTON Sr., possible John or Amos SUTTON, and Jane Clawson
Other Sutton connections are mentioned as they occur.

END EMAIL 1.
