John Thake married Sarah Prentice in Shelley Essex. The couple had two children born in England before leaving for Australia. All in all they had 9 children; John William (1855), George (1858), Joseph (1860), Sarah Ann (1862),Mary Ann (1864), William (1866), (the ancestor of your husband Graeme and for that matter Neil, Pamela, and Stephen,) Samuel (1868), Henry (1866),(the father of the Australian artist and stamp designer Eric Thake) and Susan (1874).
