Hello Dean,
Well there are two main branches of the Thake familiy in Australia both originating from north west Essex. Eric Thake was an internationally recognised painter and he also designed a number of Australian postage stamps. Don't feel alone in Perth as a local fish and chip shop is kept by a Thake grandson.
