I am an American who married a Thai lady in 1971. Her father's father was 100% Chinese. We think his name was Sezchua. The area he came from they tell me is called Taechew - it must be the same area. He married a Thai woman and adopted the Thai surname of Phanthsnit and had a large family. I find geneology very interesting and have traced my Porter family tree back to 507 AD. But my wife is not at all interested in helping me on her family's side. I have just made e-mail contact with her nephew in Korat - hopefully he will help me. We have 3 grown sons here in the US and it will be very nice information for them to have someday. Best wishes and good luck in your search for your Taechew roots.
