Looking for N.C. Thackers

I am searching for John Beverly Thacker born 1780 somewhere in Va, but he was married in Pittsylvania Co, Va to Elizabeth Murphy. One of their sons, William Beverly Thacker born 1799 in N.C., first marriage to Mahala LNU, 2nd marriage to Sarah Sisk in Surry Co, N.C.
There is a Charles Thacker that is in Rockingham Co, N.C. about the same age as John Beverly, he also comes from Pittsylvania Co,Va. So I am wondering if Charles and John be brothers.
