Hanover Co.,Va. Their sons: Joseph, Andrew, Jesse, William,
Thomas Jr., James, and John.
Jesse built the church in Princeton, Caldwell Co., Ky. He
died in Christian Co., Ky. William, settled in Christian
Co., Ky., John (1751-1819), a Rev.War soldier, married
Sarah Hopkins in 1769 in Va. and had 9 children. He opened
a school after the war in Va. and wrote, "John Grubb's
Cyphering Book", a record of the school attendances of his
25 students now in the DAR Library. He left this school to
his eldest son, Anderson Grubbs and wife, Susannah Winston,
then in 1804, John Grubb, at age 53, took his other eight
children to Kentucky and named his settlement, GLASGOW,
BARREN CO., KENTUCKY.I only have the names of two of
his sons, Anderson and Thomas (1786-1837).
Emanuel Grubb (1682-1767)wrote his Will in May 1764 and he
names 10 sons and 2 daughters:
Edith, Ann, Joseph, Benjamin, Francis, Peter, James, Nicholas, Henry, John, Thomas(above), and Emanuel Jr.
Emanuel Grubb Sr. is buried in St. Martin's Chy in Marcus
Hook, Chester Co., Pa. where he was a vestryman, and where
his father, John Grubb Sr. is buried. His Obit was published in the Pennsylvania Gazette on August 20, 1767.
His sons: Benjamin, Francis, Peter, James, and Nicholas,
died before their father. His son, John, went to sea and
was never heard from again.Emanuel Jr. was the only
son living in Delaware when his father died, and he is also
buried in the St. Martin's Chy near his father and grandfather. He had inherited his grandfather, John Grubb Sr.'s Bible Records, but John Grubb Sr. wrote his Will in
1719 and named his children.
