Herman Thacker, 75, 189 Kyle Valley Road, Eidson, TN, died
September 10, 2007, at Wellmont Hawkins County Hospital,
Hawkins Co TN.
He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a
member of Compromise Baptist Church.He was a loving
husband, father, and grandfather.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and
Alice Anderson Thacker; four brothers, Elbert, Garnie
'Bob', David and James Thacker; and three sisters, Mary
Nell Robbins, Virginia Horton, and Beatrice Gibson.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Jo (Gibson)
Thacker of the home; three daughters, Mary Jo Fleenor and
husband, Buddy, of Rogersville, TN, Janie Thacker, and
Debbie Horton and husband, T. J. of Eidson, TN; three
grandchildren, Josh Wade (Danyale), Christy Wilder (Stacy),
and Dewayne Horton (Melissa); great Grandchildren,
Logan, Brayden and Megan Wilder, Ethan Wade, Whitney and
Madison Lambert and Caitlyn Horton; two sisters, Minnie
Allen, of Salem, IND, and Betty Smith, of Mooresburg, TN;
several nieces and nephews and a host of friends; three of
his special friends were Evalena McGee, Fodell Amyx, and
Lynn Short.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday,
September 12, 2007, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral
services will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel
with Rev. J. C. Lawson and Rev. Sam Trent officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
September 13, 2007, at the Thacker-Lipe Memory Garden,
681 Caney Creek Road, Rogersville, Hawkins Co TN.
Music will be provided by Buddy Fleenor, Valice Jarvis,
Susie Wallen, Farron Catron and Evalene McGee.
Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville, TN, is serving
the Thacker family.
