In Reply to: IOWA - g grandfather Warren Tew by Judy (Tew) Richards of 803

Richard M. Tew was bc 1829 in a portion of Summit county, Ohio which at the time was part of Portage county. It was probably at Northampton or Boston township.

His parents were Richard Tew b. NY d. 1828-1829. Married 1/25/1821 Eliza Thompson b 4/15/1802. She remarried to Cyrus Webster 9/12/1829 and he died 12/29/1842 in Boston twp, Summit co. She moved with children to Lomira, Dodge co, WI and lived there many years. She moved to Tonti, Marion co, IL after 1870 or so. Her son Richard M. appears on the 1880 census there.

Richard M. Tew also had a son named Herbert who was living in IL in 1880. I do not know what became of him.

Richard owned land at Webster, Day co, SD in the 1880's as did Warren and Richard's brother William. William and family lived there many years and he died at Webster 6/19/1898. I do not know if Richard moved away, but I have not found any record of his death in Webster newspapers.
