Robert Tivis in Essex
Posted by: Lois Robertson Date: July 18, 1999 at 20:08:11

Recently I was accessing the new lds site for
Robert Tevis and was given Robert Tivis also with an address of Halstead in Essex, England and a birthdate of 1657 and married in 1682 to a lady named Honor Smith. Is it possible that this is the father of the Robert Tevis who came to the Colonies? I have also noticed that the name "Honor" recurs in the Tevis family. Of course, Honor, was a popular name in those days but the dates seem plausible. what do you think? did the Tevis
family stopover in England for a generation or so?
