I don't note if you ever got a response to your query, but I also have the Tetherow book. On page 19 is an entry that says John M Tetherow, born 6 May 1838 Missouri, married 4 March 1869 to Martha J Pugh, died 27 May 1925 Waterville, Washington.
On page 23, under the heading of John M Tetherow, it reads, "John M Tetherow was the first child of David and Ruth S. Tetherow born in Missouri. He was born 16 May 1838 and traveled over the Oregon Trail with his parents in 1845. He was married 4 Mar 1869 to Martha J Pugh (or Burns). He died 27 May 1925 at Waterville, Washington.
The page goes on to list the children of John M and Martha J Tetherow. There are five in the list and if you need the information, I can supply it to you.
