Hi Joan!

Michael Tetherow is the third son of John Dettero/Totherow/Tetherow & Mary Hoffman Dettero/Totherow/Tetherow. He was born in Shenandoah Valley, VA in 1776. He married Barbara Shrum on Christmas Eve 1798 in Tryon, Lincoln County, NC. They had 9 children:

Solomon B Tetherow (Capt.) b. March 25, 1800 Rutherford County, NC (Wagon Train Master)
Catherine Tetherow b. abt. 1802 in TN
John Tetherow b. abt. 1803 in TN
Mary Tetherow b. abt. 1805 in TN
David Tetherow b. abt. 1807 in TN (My GGG Grandfather)
William Tetherow b. abt. 1808 in TN
Margaret Tetherow b. abt. 1810 in TN
George William Tetherow b. abt. 1812 in TN
James Tetherow b. abt. 1813 in TN
