Ace....Thank You For the information....this is GREAT!!!I think Virginia & I are on the right track now with our Teter/Teeter research. This should make it easier to find our Mary"Polly" Teter. I have felt so uncomfortable with the Dieter info we kept getting everywhere, because I knew my ggrandfather, Hector Hubert Harris(grandson of Timothy Robert Harris and Mary "Polly" Teter-Harris, said he was Scotch, Irish and Indian!! He even left Missouri and moved to Indian Territory (later OK), to Tahlequah, the capital of the Cherokee Nation. He never talked about being part German! His mother was full-blood Scot, her name was Margaret McLean, she was 16 when she and her family came over in 1848 and settled in Saline Co., MO. And he talked about his Harris', Teters and Heard's being Scotch-Irish and Indian.
Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into getting this information and passing it on!!!
Keep in touch!
Dee Dee
