My grandfather, Arthur Leroy Teter had an older sister, Cora Teter, and there were many years difference in age. I have several decades of missing Census records on his father John F. Teter. 1860 was in Decatur Co., IA, born 1852. I know at some point they lived in Hamburg, IA circa 1890's. Found family in Atchison Co., Mo in the 1900 Census.
Cora Teter married David P Anglin, and lived in Yankton, SD around 1916 as I have a postcard that Cora wrote to her mother Elvira Brooks Teter.
There was a child who was put up for adoption that my grandfather mentioned: but it was the son of his other sister, Zola. He was adopted by a family named Thorpe.I show 2 Cora Teters in my tree, my grandfather's sister, and only dates are died 1922. There is much research on both Samuel E. Teters out there.
Hopefully, this may help
Another is Cora Jane Teter, dauther of Samuel E and Mary Harritt Teter, Samuel E was the son of Samuel Edmiston Teter and Eliza Jane Leuty. This Samuel Edmiston was born 1817 so this may give you a time line of who would possibly fit.
