This is from my correspondence. I also posted this on another Teter query.

Here are some notes I have on George Teter, which I think Larry Boyd sent
me. They are from a family association who were working on that family back
in the 1970s, probably have it all updated now. We should see if we can
find something on the net!

The author of these notes was very concerned about the date changes from
old to new ~ that is a problem in medieval research but it has to be
figured they aren't going to be the same as our dates, but what difference
does it make after 300 years?
Hans Michael Teter made a will in 1716 which mentioned 4 children, his wife
died and he made another will in 1724 which mentioned only 3 children. The
following material was compiled by Karl Wagenplast from Schwaigern records:
In the partition of the estate of Hans Michael Teter on 5.07.1734, the
heirs are listed as the widow Maria Elisabetha (second wife); son Hans
George who emigrated some years prior to PA, Eberhardina Baumgartner; and
Juliana, wife of Kieter Eberle, the baker. The records show that Juliana
died in 1733 and 8 weeks before the partition Dieter Eberle married
Christina Elisabetha, she died 1741 (and the baker ended up with the
estate??? Sorry, how funny!) Actually, the widow only had use of the house
until she died but she invited her daughter Eberhardina and family to live
with her and they got the estate at her death! Hans George Teter in America
inherited 855 Guilders at the partition. Also says Hans Michael Teter was
Mayor of Schwaigern. Also submitted is the exit visa from the Police Court
of Schwaigern, 1727 which is interesting: "John George Teter, son of
Schwaigern mayor Johann Michael Teter who has decided in furtherance of his
expected success to render himself to Pennsylvania under Royal British
Sovereignty."
Notes from Mr. Wagenplast: "Hans Michael, the son of farmers, must have
studied because his clear-cut, faultless handwriting could not be explained
otherwise. He was soon sitting on the municipal board (a type of town
council), became advocate in 1710, that is First Magistrate and deputy of
the Mayor, and as such was the third-ranking figure, after the lordly ruler
and his manager, an attorney from Heilbronn who served also as deputy
bailiff, Johann Balthasar Muller ~ in the upcoming Schwaigern Witch Trials
(1712-1716). In 1724 it happened: about the middle of the year Hans Michael
Dieter was entrusted with the office of Mayor by the lord of Neipperg. He
bought a new pair of gray cloth pants for his marriage to his second wife,
Maria Elisabetha. Before he owned only one pair of buckskin pants. He also
bought a new doublet of black cloth and a new grey coat. Also he owned only
two pairs of stockings and two pairs of gloves. As a head cover he wore a
so-called beaver hat (probably three-cornered). 1693, the 8th of June,
Michael the Senior, overseer of the poor and juror of this place, arrived
in Heilbronn while fleeing from the enemy, became ill, and was buried
there, 70 years, 8 months."
Sebastian Dieter and George Teter, two brothers (wonder why he isn't listed
above?), emigrated from Schwaigern to America in 1738. (This is in conflict
with earlier notes by this same person, but interesting. Maybe Sebastian
left later than George.)
It is recorded in 1745 that Sebastian and his entire family died in the New
Land. Peter Lohrmann emigrated in 1732, and in 1739 wrote a letter which is
preserved in Schwaigern Archives and included: "First about Bastian Dieter,
they left in an unlucky year, barely a third of the total shipload remained
alive. Bastian, his wife and children, Marcel Schneider and wife and
children, Stophel Schaber, Jerg Gerbert, of all those only Jerg Gerbert's
wife is still living."
Later emigrants from this family also emigrated years later ~ 1848 ~
Dorothea Catharine, daughter of vintner Christian Dieter, 21 years old, and
Gottgried Dieter, son of the town messenger, Christian Dieter, 15 years old
and the latter's adult brothers emigrated to North America.
