James Curtis 'Doodle' Testerman, 67, VA, obituary
Marion, VA - James Curtis 'Doodle' Testerman, 67, went to
be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2008, in the Salem
VA Medical Center in Salem, VA, after a courageous battle
with a long illness.
Mr. Testerman was born April 25, 1941, in Smyth Co VA, to
the late Earl and Bertha Testerman. He was preceded in
death by four brothers, Earl Testerman, Jr., Nile 'Press'
Testerman, Doug Testerman and Harry Testerman; three
sisters Betty Routh, Peggy Clark, and Elsie Routh and
husband Bill.
Mr. Testerman was a dedicated husband and father and was
a retired truck driver of 38 years. He was an Honorably
discharged U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed watching and
playing golf, baseball and football. He enjoyed listening
to classic country and gospel music and enjoyed going to
McDonald's to have a cup of coffee with his buddies. He
loved to ride around with his buddy, Scooter. Mr. Testerman
will be sadly missed by his family and friends who loved
him very much and we will be in heaven with him some day.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Shelby Jean
Williams Testerman; three children, James 'Jamie' Curtis
Testerman, Jr., Jason Mark Testerman and wife Sherry Lee
Testerman, Jessica Renee Hogston and husband Jonathon Wade
Hogston; three grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Rhoten and
husband Jonathon, Jason Earl Testerman, Jessica Michelle
Testerman; one brother, Bill Testerman and wife Betty;
several nieces and nephews; one special buddy, Scooter.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November
13, 2008, at the Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion with
Rev. Mike Sage officiating.
Interment will follow in Wassum Cemetery with Full
Military Honors rendered by the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post
4667.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
