Hello Robert,
Yes Thomas Testerman is on a monument in Independence, Grayson Co., Va. He is listed as a member of Captain Enoch Osbourne's Va. militia in 1783. However no other records have been found to back this up. He did receive a land grant in Wilkes County, Carolina now known as Ashec Co., NC. No one can find any record of when Thomas came to this Country. I think it is very possible that he came to America as a Hessan Soilder (as many did) defected and fought for America. If you should make it to the monument, take lots of photo's, would love to get a copy.
Patsy
PS Monument is located at the old courthouse in Independence, Va.
