I am looking for anyone who has any information on Samuel Test (b. 1854). He is listed in the 1860 Gloucester county, NJ census as living with Joseph (b. 1831) and Eliza Kidd (b. 1839). He is later listed in the 1880 New Castle, DE census as Samuel T. Kidd, the adopted son of Joseph Kidd.

Samuel was my gg grandfather. I had always heard that the Kidd name was adopted. I would like to find out the circumstances of his adoption. Who were his biological parents? I know there were several Test family members from the South Jersey Area.
