Ed,

You are correct that she is listed as Caroline in the 1850 census. But I believe there was a mistake by the census taker. In the 1860 census in Titus County she is listed as Clementine Ottwell. Also in the 1854 Texas Scholastics Census she is Clematine Otwill. I also have the birth certificate of Clara Test where she states that her mother is Clementine V. Otwell born in Titus Co., TX.

I realize that the 1850 says Caroline, however there is enough other evidence to make me believe that her name is really Clementine.
