Jim- Thanks for the response. I have heard of Walter Tessmer's work, but couldn't locate it. Can you give me some leads? Thanks. My great grandfather Gottlieb's parents were Christoph Tesmer and Rose Tesmer (maiden name, so probably from two of the Tesmer family branches. Her father Georg was a school teacher in Schmilowo, born 1789 , died in 1852. I will look for Schauer connections when researching. I do have a description of Schmilowo from Otto Goerke's history of the Flatow district entitled "DER KREIS FLATOW. In geographischer, naturkundlicher und geschichtlicher Beziehung dargestellt" (Flatow, 1918) if interested.
