As far back as I can go is my GGrandfather Karl Wilhelm TESSMANN b 14 December 1829 in Moltow, Kreis Kolberg-Korlin, Pommern, Prussia. Moltow was small village near to Gross Jestin and relatively close to Fritzow which is also close to Moltow. Gross Jestin is probably where the Lutheran Church was located. It is just a gut feeling but perhaps Louise TESSMANN b January 1831 may be relative of elusive Karl Wilhelm TESSMANN. I haven't seen your Carl Appmann as the records for this part of Germany are sketchy but who knows. I have seen APPMANN on my Grandmother's side in Kratzig, Koeslin, Pommern, Prussia. As church records are available at Morman Library you may want to check this out if you haven't already. The film #896089/Title of Record:Poland, Koszalin, Krasnic-Kozalinski or check on-line
