Looking for history behind Andre Tessier (changed to Andrew Tacy) m. Susan Teresa LaDuc, parents of Regis Tessier (Richard Tacy) of Quebec area. Removed to Utica and Watertown, NY area.
Regis (Richard) m. Mary C. Back (dau. Pierre (Peter) Back & Catherine Guion)in NY.
Their dau. Elvira Ann Tacy (m. Harold R. Brown) was my grandmother. I have a photo of her as a teen in an Indian-made wedding dress -- I even have the hand-beaded cuffs off the dress itself! Have many photos of her siblings from early-mid 1900s.
I'd love to know the relationship between the family and the Indians of the area at that time... possibly Iriquois or Seneca?
I look at the land-thingy as just family folk lore -- who knows for sure? We never will... but the stories sure are interesting :)
What I am most interested in is the lineage back from Regis through Andre... and then some history on the family itself in upstate NY and Canada.
