Teskey Family Genealogy Forum

Greetings Debby:
The information I have regarding WILLIAM EDWARD TESKEY is that he was born in 1774 in Co. Limerick, Ireland and died May 20, 1841 in Napierville Co., Quebec. He is buried in the Napierville Cemetery. His wife's name was Catherine. In the 1831 census for Quebec he is listed in L'Acadie Co. (LaColle)and born after 1772, household of 9 including 7 children and a member of the Church of Ireland. He probably came to Quebec with other Palatines in 1824. I think he is the son of Adam Teskey and his second wife,Mary Legier (they were married in 1772 in Limerick, IRE. I also think that his brother was Michael Teskey, bn. 1778 and he died in Ireland but his family emigrated to Ireland. Michael's daughter, Anne, my direct ancestor, I have been researching, could of been the wife of a Robert Atkins --- they are also on both the 1825 and 1831 census records. In 1825 a widow Teskey is in the household and that could be Michael's wife. All the dates match but I have no definite proof of these connectons. The children of William Edward and Catherine: Joseph 1807; Elias 1816; Philip 1818; William St. John 1823; Rebecca and Susan.
I know that Anne Teskey born 1809, the same year as the daughter of Michael Teskey named Anne; and I know they all immigrated in 1824. I hope you can now help me.
