My great-grandfather Wilhelm Teske came from Pomerania in the 1880's and bought a farm north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have heard members of the family say that the name in Germany may have been "Teska," but I've never been able to confirm this. Wilhelm was married twice; my grandfather Otto ran away from home, worked for the railroad, and settled in Tomah, Wisconsin. I have no idea if any of his brothers or half-brothers might have gone to Michigan.
