Hello,
I am looking for information on my great-grandmother Sophie Tesch and her husband David Mefford (I believe that his first name was David but I know his last name was Mefford although the spelling could be different). Sophie came here from Germany, she was born in about 1869. I know that they lived in Chicago for a time but they may have lived in New York for a while too. They had a baby boy that died when he was very young, I would also like to know more about him; what his name was, when he was born, how old he was when he died. I also know that her husband died very young and she was so devastated by it that she moved. She was on her way to San Francisco but she got stuck in Colorado during a snow storm and decided to stay here. She later married Engle Edinger in Craig, Colorado and in 1928 she adopted my grandmother (after my grandmother's mom died in Germany in 1925) but she never had any more children. She was so devastated by the death of her baby and husband that she never spoke about them and that is why I, and my family, desperately want to know more about her life. Could you please give me any information that you can about them? I would like to know when Sophie came to the US and where and when she and Mefford were married, how old he (Mefford) was when he died and why/how he died and any information possible on their son.
My mom is very ill and I want to suprise her with any information that I can find, it would truly mean the world to her, and me to have this information.
