There is a book that mentions a few Terwilliger names in Bergen County, New Jersey. You might already have this ... Mention of a JOHN TERWILLIGER as an elder of the Methodist church (that's all it said) Mention of a JAMES V.B. TERWILLIGER on page 235 regarding the year 1849 about the Methodist church. There was mention of a company named "Parker and Terwilliger" and they were involved in the Saddle River grist and sawmill at one time. There was mention of a "Triphammer" that forged the farmers tools. There was a company of Terwilliger's that cut logs and ties in Michigan and I do not know if this the same group. See the post on Newaygo Michigan at this board. I don't know if the above Terwilliger's are connected with your group or not. Source: The book has been digitized: History of Bergen County, New Jersey - James M. Van Valen - 1900 - Bergen County (N.J.) 691 pages ...Foremost among those who made Saddle River famous in the earlv days of the nineteenth ... Ackerman the proprietor of the works known as the Triphammer... Hope your doing good and best wishes on TERWILLIGER family research. I am only interested in genealogy related e-mail.
