AMY ANN TERRILL, born in 1838 in Albany, NY was the daughter of CHAUNCEY/CHANCEY TERRILL (1801 CT - 1872 Kirkwood, Warren Co., IL) and MARY ? (1807 NY - 1874 Kirkwood, Warren Co., IL). Her parents appear in the Albany City Directory (miscofische) beginning in about 1827. She is the fourth, and youngest of 4 children born to her parents, following: 1) ALLEN JACKSON TERRILL (b: 17 April 1828); 2) MARTHA E. TERRILL (b: 1830 Albany, NY); and 3) JOHN L. TERRILL (30 May 1833 Albany, NY - 1 Aug 1872 Kirkwood, Warren Co., IL), and her name appears on the 1850 Census for Ashtabula Co., OH, where her parents had moved by ~1840. As of the 1850 Census, she was then age 22. But she disappears from the next census, indicating that she either died or was married to a person unknown to me in that interim. John L. Terrill, her older brother, is my 1XG grandfather, and I descend through his daughter, EMMA TERRILL (Emily LaVera Terrill Scott), my maternal grandmother, who married ROBERT LeROY SCOTT of Hedrick, IA, and via their daughter, Valetta Florence Scott (Hoff)(1912 Boise, Id - now living in Des Moines, Polk Co., IA), who is my mother, and who on 1 Sept 1934 in DSM, IA married JOHN RICHARD HOFF (1909 DSM, IA - 1970 DSM, IA) and they had 2 sons, my brother, ROBERT TENNANT HOFF (4 Jun 1948 DSM, IA - living in Washington DC), and me (2 Jan 1946 - now living in Chicago, IL).
