Benjamin William Terrell b.1851 ENG- d.1913 CANADA

Benjamin William Terrell was one of 8 children born to William Terrell b 1824 Exeter ENG d 1899 Toronto CAN. and Maria Louise Prowse b 1825 Exeter ENG d. 1908 Newmarket CAN.
The unusual thing about this family was that 5 of the children were born deaf and mute... and Benjamin was one of them.
" They were students of the Gallaudet University and a special report was done on them as they were all from the same family... interesting was the fact that most of them married other deaf and mute mates... as did some of their hearing siblings... and they all had hearing children with the exception of one child in the next generation."

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Website:http://www.gallaudet.edu/

Now I believe that this family was and is related to my branch of the Terrell's... My g-grandfather Stephen Thomas Terrell b 1851 Charlton, Kent d. 1892 Woolwich, Kent. He married Eliza Mary Ann Martin b 1853 Woolwich and d 1918 in Toronto, Canada. They had a son Bertie, a daughter, Agnes and a son David Wheeler Terrell who was my grandfather. Now, when i checked the immigration passenger list, they were accompanied by this Benjamin Terrell... no one we knew... however, when i realized he was deaf and mute, seen pictures of him and my g-grandfather... i am positive they are related... most likely cousins. My grandfather was only 7 yrs old when they came to Canada and so he probably never told anyone about Benjamin... His family comes from Exeter, Devonford and Stoke, Devon... Stephen's family are from Deptford, Woolwich Kent...
i hope someone out there can help me connect these 2 families!!
