Hello, and THANK YOU for responding to my post regarding my Grandfather (LORAN MITCHELL TERRELL). Yes, I've searched (IN VAIN) for him in the 1930 Census, thinking he would SURELY be listed there since he was nine (9) years old then. NO SUCH LUCK. I've spoken to "David" in the Office of Vital Statistics in OKC regarding his information...all I get from David is, "I'm sorry, I cannot divulge any information over the telephone...you need to send us a completed form.." Blah blah blah...It's been (as of the 3rd of November TWO (2) months since I mailed off the death certificate application with a check (that CLEARED).

Furthermore, I read where when you typed in my Grandfathers' name, you see "immediately he was born in Oklahoma..." Hmm...that's weird...every time I type it in (@ Ancestry.com), all I get is this :" Your Search for Loran Mitchell Terrell returned no matches
You searched for Loran Mitchell Terrell in Usa from 1920 - 1991"

I copied and pasted EXACTLY what I got just a second before I started typing this posting so you could see what I'm getting on my end.

I've even called the Nursing home..found that there are 5 other 'Residents' there that were admitted the same time frame as my Grandfather, but, according to one of the Nurses, "Sir, not one of those five dear residents can remember their OWN name right now, let alone remember your Grandfather."

I KNOW FOR A FACT he lived in Walters, owned property in Walters, DIED in Walters, and served in the US Army, yet I've run into the 'genealogical brick wall' with this one. He enlisted into the US Army in OKC; I have no idea what he did in nor how long he was in the Army.

I am overseeing my Grandfathers' "Find-a-Grave" site, should ANYONE reading this knows ANYTHING about Army uniform identification, feel free to view my Grandfathers photo IN UNIFORM and let me know what that patch is on his R arm. Perhaps then, I may be able to go into a Army Recruiters office and get some guidance from them???

Thank you very much for your input...you know..the more difficult this is becoming, the MORE DETERMINED I am to get this solved!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Cheers!
