Richard Lancaster Tennant, born in Red Cloud, Neb, in the 1870s, farmed with his brothers in Iowa in the 1890s (I don't know which part of Iowa), before moving to Alberta, Canada, where he homesteaded in 1902 and founded one of the western Canadian Tennant clans. RLT's father was, I believe Dewayne Tennant; his mother, Alice Tennant (nee Waterman). The furthest I have traced my paternal line is to an Oliver Tennant in New York Colony in 1760. Dewayne and Alice travelled from St. Louis to Red Cloud by covered wagon -- I have her diary of the trip.
