John Randy Tennant, who died in Vietnam in 1968 was the brother of a dear friend of mine.He was the son of Sherman and Edna Headlee Tennant who lived at Daybrook, Monongalia Co. WV.He descended from Richard and Elizabeth Haught Tennant, who settled on Jakes Run, Monongalia Co. WV in the late 1700's.He graduated from Clay Battelle High School in Blacksville, a popular and very good looking young man.He was drafted into the army and did not want to go to Vietnam. He was there, if I remember correctly, only a couple of months when he was killed. He is buried in the Daybrook Cemetery at Daybrook, Monongalia Co. WV, next to his parents and brother.
His stone reads: John Randy Tennant, 1948-1968, WV SP4
