Kinley and Dennis,
An ambitous effort, I sure hope you update the TENER book to 2000!!
Perhaps one of you has a thought on the following . . .
On p. 10, first paragraph, there is a short, very short, discussion of the Tener families that settled in Adams Co, OH in the early 1800s.Jacob TENER (b. 1767) is specifically mentioned. If the family trees I have seen for John (b. 1725) and wife Margaret (b. 1731) are reasonably correct (but not necessarily complete), then Jacob and my ancestor Adam TENER (b. ca 1770-71) were brothers.I am very intested in the author's speculation that "family tradition variously claims Co. Tyrone, Ireland or Germany as the place from which their (Jacob's) ancestors emigrated."I have even seen Luxembourg, which was under French rule as a possible place of origin.Since this book was pubished in 1949, has there been any additional information on the origin of this line of TENERs, i.e., for John and Margaret TENER, Jacob's parents? And my Adam's parents.Thank you for any thoughts you might have on this.
