The first TenBroeck who came to this country was Wessel TenBroeck. His son was Wessel Wesselson (Wesselse) TenBroeck who married Marya TenEyck and then Laurentia Kellnaur.
The first Wessel's wife was named Elsie who came from Zeeland, I was told. He went back to Europe to fetch his sons, Wessel Wesselse, Dirck and Hendryck and his daughter, Cornelia.
My question is - were they protestants or Roman Catholics? And if they came from Munster in Westphalia, where did the board ship? Munster isn't anywhere near the water!
