Francis Brown was the second wife of David Clarke Templeton. David Clarke was the son of James Templeton who came to SC in 1772 and was granted 100 acres on Duncans Creek in the Enoree River area of Laurens County. The plat for the land is dated 15 December 1772 and the grant was issued on 17 March 1775. Info is from "Templeton Family History" by L. B. Templeton, which describes the Templetons of Laurens County, SC. Robert Scott Templeton stated his grandfather, James Templeton, had no brothers or sisters in the states. I feel some of the other early Templetons in Laurens County are related to the James Templeton Senior of Iredell County, NC.
