Templeman Crossroads Virginia came into being because of the Mercantile owned by Thomas Templeman in the mid 1700's The only thing left there present day is the sign and several cemetaries. The Templeman's were substantial land holders in this general area and had considerable influence over many of the founding families. goods from europe were brought to the docks of what is currently the Lee mansion off loaded and brought by wagon to the mercantil. However many of the families would meet the ship to be the first to have the new goods in town.
