Hi Carol I realy do not have very much on the HERTFORD'S. I had a film with this on it. Richard (sir) a chivaler by Oct 1349. He was appointed Sheriff of Berwick-on -Tweed 1350, and held the post of Sheriff of Rosburgh, Berwick, and Governor of the castles of Scarborough, Roxburgh, Berwick, and Berwick town, 1351 to Aug 1375. In 1351 Lord Henry Percy gave him the reversion of the manor of Hetton, Northumberland. He m. in 1312, Joan dau. and heir of Sir Thomas de HERTFORD by whom he obtained the manor of Hertford, Yorks. She d.s.p. and he m 2ndly, about 1355, Isabel, dau. and heir of Sir Thomas de BOURNE, of Studley, Kt., by his wife Isabel, dau. and heir of Sir John le GRAS, of Studley, Kt., which lady. d 1 Aug 1421, Sir Richard d before Oct 1379. (will dated at Hetton) leaving by his 2nd wife two sons, John, his heir, b., 1360; m. ca. 1388 Mary, dau. and heir of Sir Hugh de CLITHEROE, and d.s.p. before 16 Feb 1389/90. She m. 2ndly, Nicholas GASCOIGNE of Lasingcroft. (this was hard to read very poor copy) Johanna born abt. 1332,I have 3 Children John, Richard, William. Virginia
