In 2002 we started a Tedford-Telford-Tilford family DNA project and now have nine results.
We have proven indeed there is more than one TEDFORD - TELFORD family line in America.
We encourage all TELFORD family lines from across the world and America to represent their family lineage by participating in this DNA project. Who is related? Are Telford and Tedford the same suname and do they DNA match? DNA testing will give us these answers.
We have one Telford line from Scotland in our project at this time and hope to have more.
Also needed are Telford descendants from these lines listed in the table of contents "Threads of Ancestors" by Mize to DNA test in the project:
1. Robert Telford of Anderson Co, SC
2. Telford Family of Banks Co, GA
3. George Brown Telford family
4. Joseph Telford Family of Chester Co, SC
5. Joseph Joseph Telford of Louisville, KY (County Antrim)
6. Thomas Telford left Will 1816 Washington Co, TN
7. Alexander Telford, Sr and wife Mary through sons
David b 1757, Alexander b 1760, Robert b 1762, James b 1763
We also need Telford males from Ireland, Scotland and England to participate in the DNA project so we can bridge the gap between those family lines and the ones that came to America.
