I am keen to see if there are any links with my TEEVAN family.
The earliest I have is Terrance TEEVAN who, with Margaret WALSH / WELSH / WALTERS, has (at least) three children. These are
JOHN TEEVAN - Born Ballyhaise abt. 1834.He enlisted with 27th Foot Regiment (Private 2658) at Cavan on 17th June 1852.He served in India and in 1868 he married EMMA TAYLOR in Dover, Kent. They had no children and he died in Scotland in 1879.(No children and branch ends)
MARY TEEVAN - Born abt. 1835. Married MICHAEL NOBLE at URNEY on 2nd April 1856.Michael was a Widower and his father was named ARCHIBALD NOBLE.Michael and Mary had a son named James (1865, Cavan). (I have no further info)
JAMES TEEVAN - Born abt 1839, Cavan.Moved to Scotland where he married BESSIE LARKIN (1856)and then had 5 children to Elizabeth BENNETT.He died 1901.Naming pattern suggests family christian names of JOHN JAMES, WILLIAM and THOMAS.(I have detailed info on this line)
The only reference yet found for a Terence Teevan is that on the 1821 Census of Ireland where Carratober (Near Butlers Bridge, County Cavan) has a Terence Teevan (aged 17) living at House No. 10 in the home of his Uncle (James Teevan) (farmed 11 acres) and his cousins Mary (22), Rose (20) and Catherine (19). COULD THIS BE CORRAGHANOE AND POORLY TRANSCRIBED?
Any help welcomed.
