I see Anne did view the scanned census from 1900. The reference to Vermont relates to Fred O's Father. His Mother was listed as being born in Scotland. Eliza J. who was born in Canada has parents listed from Ireland and she herself was naturalized as a citizen of U.S. in 1869. I have never heard of or seen any evidence other than this of the Vermont connection.
