You will find an interesting article about this family in "Teeple People" on page 3 of issue 17 (March, 1995) - here is a quick factual synopsis (the full article is much more interesting):
Simon was born abt 1819 in NY. He was a lighthouse keeper, married Jane Djigabikadjonikwe, and had 8 children.
George, son of Simon, married Josette Misigen in 1873.
Francis Teeple, son of George, was born 1885.
Contact Anne Rahamut for back issues of Teeple People. It is also available in some libraries, including (I think) the Library of Michigan.
A side note: a descendant of this line, Bucko Teeple has written a book called "Kitchigamig Anichinabeg - The People of the Great Lakes", 1994, Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Sault Ste. Marie, MI - I mention it because members of this line may be interested in that book.
