Cheryl,
I'm looking for a John W. Teefy born in that appoximate time frame."My" John was born circa 1824, however, I do not know where he was born in Ireland.
I do have documentation that he emigrated in 1856 arriving at Port Henry.I am unable to find precisely where Port Henry is.It may be in Canada. In any case, he applied for US citizenship in 1856 and ultimately wound up in Iowa City, Iowa.
He married Bridget Doughaney prior to emigrating and had four children. He ultimately died in 1902.I have no idea if this is the same John that you mention in your Teefy line, but thought I would throw this out for you or anyone else who may have connections with this branch of the Teefy family.
Pat
