I have been surfing through the messages for the Tedrow name and have seen several references to the Dotterer name. I am a descendant of Johan Michel Dotterer, who arrived in America between 1717 and 1721. He sttled in what was at that time, Philadelphia Co. pa. Later it bacame Berks Co. He lived in Colebrookdale Twp. and was known as Michael of Colebrookdale. The Zachariah Dotterer mentioned is I believe a descendant of Johan Ludwig Detterer (that lines spelling of the name) Ludwig was a brother to Johan Michael. Rudolph was a son of Johan Michael Dotterer, or as wew refer to him (JMD). JMD and George Philip Dotterer, who both came from the same town of Stebbach in Baden, Germany at the same time, settled just a few miles from each other in Pa. George PHilip, or (GPD)ended up in Montgomery Co. Pa. Ludwig appears in some taxrecords as a tenant on GPD's land. We assume that all three were related although no conclusive info has been obtained to date. I have baptism records fo JMD, who was born in 1683, and not 1689 as some have reported. JMD and GPD both have their children baptized in the same church. Bur anyway Rudolph had two sons, Johan Michael and Johan George. One line ended up in Maryland along with a line from GPD. One of them went to Somerset Co. Pa. Off the top of my head I don't recall which. Zachariah's line used the name Dettera. Hope I haven't confused you. Have a nice day. Larry Dutter
